     JRI Div 3A -  Jefferson Street
     
    Jefferson Street has been reopened due to construction.  This project should be completed in December 2013.  See Newsletter for more information.

    CSO 16.3 B 
     
    16.3B has been awarded to Counts & Dobyns, Inc. and began in November 2012. This separation project includes the following streets: Wythe Rd., James St., Stadium Rd., Blackburn St., Fulks St. There is also a significant amount of off-road work along N&S railroad properties. This project is scheduled to be completed in June 2014.

    James River Interceptor 

    This is Lynchburg's largest and longest interceptor sewer.  At it's largest, this interceptor is 7 feet in diameter.  It's total length is approximately 7 miles, from the Wastewater Treatment Plant along the James River all the way to VES Road, just below Reusens Dam. This interceptor has been broken down into 6 different Divisions.  Division 1 - Completed in February 2009, this Project was located along Concord Turnpike from the Wastewater Treatment Plant upstream to Winston Ridge Road.
    • Division 2 - This Project was partially funded with Federal Stimulus money and constructed by Thalle Construction from Hillsborough, NC.  This project was completed in June 2011.
    • Division 3A - This project, is located from the Carter Glass Bridge to 13th Street.  Construction for Division 3A has been awarded to Thalle Construction and began in August 2012.  This project encompasses work along Jefferson Street and Washington Street.  The project is scheduled to be completed in December 2013.
    • Division 3B - This project will run from Riverfront Park to 9th St. and is currently under bid. This is the last of the James River Interceptor projects. Construction is scheduled to begin in January of 2014 and take 1 year to complete.  During construction, Riverfront park will be closed.
    • Division 4 - This project is approximately 3,000 ft long, and has two tunnels, the longest of which is over 1,000 ft long under 7 sets of railroad tracks. Work on this Division was completed in April 2013.  
    • Division 5 - This project is located upstream of Griffin Pipe. Construction began in July of 2011 and was completed in August 2012 by Thalle Construction Company. 
    • Division 6 - This Project was partially funded with Federal Stimulus money, as well as a Federal EPA Stag Grant, and was constructed by Thalle Construction from Hillsborough, NC. and completed in July of 2011.
