    Recruitment Information

    Successful applicants will possess:

    • Associate's degree or equivalent education and experience; Excellent team skills
    • A willingness to learn; Strong customer service skills
    • The ability to function in stressful situations
    • The ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute
    • Successfully take a battery of 15 computer related tests
    • The ability to work a rotating day off schedule that includes weekends, and holidays
    • The ability to work any of three shifts (midnight, daylight, and evenings)
    • The ability to speak distinctly; The ability to gather facts from persons in crisis situations

    The selection process includes:

    • A personal history free of drug abuse or criminal offenses
    • Typing & computer testing is conducted at The City of Lynchburg Human Resources Department
    • An initial certification process
    • An interview and a review board
    • Consent to a Drug & Alcohol Test
    • Fingerprinting conducted by the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD)
    • A polygraph examination
    • A thorough background investigation

    Starting Salary:  $31,553.60 annually (plus benefits)
