How To Request A Custom Map
If you couldn't find what you needed in the Map Gallery or on our other Online Applications, simply review the information below and then send the GIS Team an email. Please include a brief description of the Custom Map you are interested in. If you are in immediate need of a map, please don't hesitate to call! We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee delivery dates or times.
Custom Map Costs
All Custom Map Requests carry a $30/hour charge for staff time* in addition to the cost of materials. Below is a table of the material costs for standard size maps. If you don't see the map size you are looking for, please feel free to contact the GIS Team.

Available Paper Options
The prices quoted above are for standard paper. We also offer premium coated paper or photo paper for your prints. However, these prints carry higher materials cost. Please feel free to ask the GIS Team for more details.
What Types Of Data Are Available For Custom Maps?
We offer a wide variety of data for custom maps, including 5 years of aerial imagery, 10' and 2' contours, and a comprehensive collection of zoning and property layers. Requests that require the creation of new/custom data layers will only be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the GIS Team if you have any questions.
How Long Does A Custom Map Request Take?
We ask that you contact us as far in advance as possible, and no less than 5 business days before the map is needed. The City of Lynchburg’s internal priorities may supersede external requests. Staff will make the best effort possible to fulfill your request in a timely fashion, but no guaranteed delivery dates or times are possible.
