Lynchburg residents are encouraged to watch the “LYH HAPPY” video produced by the City’s LTV Channel 15 on Comcast Cable.
The video uses the popular Happy song by award winning artist Pharrell Williams as a celebration of the City of Lynchburg being a great place to live, work, and play. The decision to create the video began when Jason Campbell, a city firefighter, saw a similar video produced by the City of Richmond and suggested Lynchburg considers doing a video.
The idea gained momentum after staff also learned that a recent Gallup poll had named Lynchburg among the happiest and healthiest cities in the country.
“The video is just a fun way to have residents and City staff send the message that Lynchburg is a great place to live work, and play,” said Communications and Marketing Director, JoAnn Martin.
The timing of the release also coincides with the City’s celebration of National Tourism Week, May 3 – May 11.
“This year, we are asking residents to become tourists in their own hometown,” said Martin. “There are so many wonderful places to visit, and we encourage people to get out and explore their own city.”
The video can also be viewed on YouTube.
