    Welcome to the Lynchburg Office of Economic Development (LOED) and the Lynchburg Economic Development Authority (LEDA).  LOED and LEDA support, plan and lead economic development in the city and by extension the region. Whether a major industry or aspiring entrepreneur, LOED and LEDA assist with siting business, providing financing and supporting the development of workforce and new markets. LOED and LEDA achieve these objectives through a variety of forward-thinking initiatives designed to support the retention and expansion of existing industries while attracting new business to help create vertical value and organic growth.

    The LOED is the City of Lynchburg’s economic development agency.  LOED staff lead business retention, attraction and new business development initiatives for the City.  The LEDA is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia and actively pursues investment and development opportunities, elevating the business profile of the City. LOED and LEDA work with a variety of development partners within the city and throughout Central Virginia.
