Lynchburg City Council Appoints New Clerk of Council

On Tuesday, April 9, the members of Lynchburg City Council appointed Robin Craig to the position of Clerk of Council. Craig will replace former Clerk of Council Valeria Chambers who retired earlier this year. She will assume her new duties on May 1, 2019.
Craig is currently serving as a Planning Technician with the Department of Community Development. She has worked with the department since 2006, where her duties include recording the minutes of the Lynchburg Planning Commission, assisting the City Planner, tracking site plans, subdivision plats, etc., through the review process, and assisting developers and citizens regarding planning and zoning issues.
“We are happy that Robin has accepted our offer to come work as the Clerk of Council,” said Mayor Treney Tweedy. “Her familiarity with the City organization, her work with the Planning Commission and her demonstrated dedication and hard work made her an excellent choice.  We look forward to working with her.”
