Lynchburg Museum Summer Camps for Kids and Teachers

The Lynchburg Museum System is offering two camps this summer. The Discover Lynchburg Summer Camp for Kids for 9 to 12 year olds will be held June 15 -19 and Teacher Recertification Camp will take place July 20 -24. Each camp will be held daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The fee is $50 per student or teacher for the entire week.
Kids and teachers participating in the camps will enjoy exploring the rich history of Lynchburg and the James River with hands-on programs relating to the Experience the James: Lynchburg’s Pathway to the World exhibit. Art projects, scavenger hunts, and trips to Percival’s Island, the Water Treatment Facility, Fire Department and Point of Honor are just some of the activities scheduled. Students and teachers alike will create model batteaux, write coded messages, mark stormwater drains with the Water Resources Department and much more!
Teachers participating in the Discover Lynchburg Teacher Recertification Camp will earn 45 points towards license renewal through the professional conference option.
