On Thursday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. the Lynchburg Public Library, 2315 Memorial Avenue, will host regional author David Simms who will discuss the research behind his new novel “Fear the Reaper.” The book is a fictional thriller about a psychologist who unearths the terrors inside a Shenandoah Valley asylum where a crusade takes place to eliminate millions of “unfit citizens” with the compulsory sterilization of people with physical and mental illnesses. Although the story is set in 1933, it echoes contemporary expressions of racism and intolerance.
Simms will sign copies of his book which will be available for purchase during the evening.
The event will take place in the Community Meeting Room and is free and open to the public.
