Lynchburg Public Library Presents "Deciphering the News" (Sept. 20)

Are you confused about how to tell "real news" from "fake news?" Do you feel overwhelmed by all the stories about current events you encounter? Have you given up trying to determine what information is reliable?  With so many new media outlets bombarding us daily, it is hard to know who to trust and what to think about global affairs. But as citizens, it is important to stay informed.

On Thursday, September 20 at 6:00 p.m., the Lynchburg Public Library, 2315 Memorial Avenue invites the public to attend “Deciphering the News” with guest speaker, Dr. Jennifer Gauthier, Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Randolph College. Learn how to decipher the news, sort out fact from opinion, and cut through misleading rhetoric to hone in on what really matters.

The event is free and will take place in the Community Meeting Room.
