The theme for this year’s Lynchburg Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program is “Paws to Read.” Be sure to take time out of your busy summer schedule and read!
Record your summer reading between now and August 2 by picking up a registration card from the Reference Desk at the Main Library, 2315 Memorial Avenue. For every five books you read, your name will be entered into a drawing for prizes that include chocolates from Cao Artisan Chocolates, coffee from The White Hart Café, and gift certificates from Urban Merchant and Basket Case.
Gain additional entries by writing reviews on the books you’ve read. Book review forms can be obtained from the Main Library, the Branch Library (located in City Hall, 900 Church Street) or online at www.lynchburgva.gov/adult-summer-reading
. The written reviews can be returned to either the Main or Branch Library. Winners will be announced at the Library’s Summer’s End party on Wednesday, August 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room at the Main Library.
In addition to these summer reading events, the first in a series of “Movies with Mutts” will take place on Saturday, June 14 with an outdoor screening of “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” on the lawn of E. C. Glass High School, 2111 Memorial Avenue.
