Miller Park Pool, located at 2100 Park Avenue, will open for Memorial Day celebrations on Sunday, May 24 and Monday, May 25. Miller Park Pool is the perfect place to kick off the summer and celebrate with features such as a spiral water slide, low and high diving boards, a concession area, a kiddie pool and giant mushroom with cascading water. Tickets for Sunday and Monday are $5 per person per day and can be obtained through Friday, May 22 at the Miller Center, 301 Grove Street, or purchased on site. Children two and under will be admitted free.
Maggie Mace, athletics, aquatics and fitness coordinator said, “We are excited to open the pool this weekend and hope the community will come to enjoy the water, sunshine, and celebration.”
The pool will reopen the weekend of May 30-31 and will then be open daily beginning June 8. Weekly hours are Monday - Saturday, 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visit www.lynchburgva.gov/parksandrec

Several special events are scheduled at the pool throughout the summer. Water Safety Day will take place on Friday, June 19 to teach families how to stay safe around the water. Military Appreciation Day is Saturday, July 4, and those with a valid Military I.D. will get free admission.
Now is also a great time to sign up for the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program which consists of two consecutive weeks of age-appropriate courses to learn and enhance swimming skills. Lifeguard training and certification will also be offered.
