MLK Commemorative Birthday Breakfast (Jan. 21)
“A Legacy of Dignity and Worth” is the theme for the Martin Luther King, Jr., Lynchburg Community Council’s 21st Annual Commemorative Birthday Breakfast to be held on Monday, January 21 at Phase 2, 4009 Murray Place. The event begins at 8:30 a.m., and Dr. Crystal M. Edwards, Lynchburg City Schools Superintendent, will be the keynote speaker. The MLKLCC was established by the Lynchburg City Council in 1991 to promote and conduct community observances in recognition of the national holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and to maintain the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Human Rights at the Lynchburg Public Library. The MLKLCC collaborates with civic, educational and religious organizations and the City of Lynchburg to support activities that reflect Dr. King’s teachings of Non-Violent Social Change.
