Play to debut at Downtown Branch Library

Local resident Claire Wittman's debut play, Copernicus, will premiere at the Downtown Branch Library on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 5:45 pm. The Burg has a feature article about Ms Wittman and the play. Following the performance, there will be a talkback with the playwright and the production team.

The years following Europe’s industrial revolution are an age of great social and scientific upheaval.  Encouraged by the quickly changing world and the advent of Darwinism, an aspiring student of biology finds herself poised on the brink of great change and discovery, in her work and in her life, as she struggles to balance the challenges posed by her brilliant, if belligerent, mentor and her ardent young suitor.
