    Road Work and Road Closures

    ♦Milling and Paving Operations on Morningside Drive
    Beginning Tuesday, May 16 and continuing through Friday, May 19, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting, milling and paving operations will be conducted on Morningside Drive. Traffic will be restricted to one lane with assistance from flagging personnel.  
    On-street parking will not be allowed during operations, and towing will be enforced. Motorists should expect minor delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone.  Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

    ♦Temporary Lane Closure On Lynchburg Expressway
    On Wednesday, May 17, from 8:00 a.m. until approximately midday, the north bound lane of Route 29 Business (Lynchburg Expressway) will be closed to accommodate the surveying and investigating sanitary sewers in the area. Additionally, Exit 1A will be closed for the duration of the work, and all downtown traffic will be required to use Exit 1B to access Main Street.  Motorists are encouraged to utilize alternate routes if at all possible.

    Williams Road to Temporarily Close for Water Line Construction
    On Wednesday and Thursday, May 17-18, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Williams Road will be closed to through traffic in order to accommodate the installation of a new storm water line.  Residents of Williams Road will have access to their homes during this time as follows: 4416, 4419 and 4420 Williams Road - access from Trents Ferry Road; all other residents - access from VES Road.  
    Detour signs will be in place.  Emergency vehicles will need to follow the designated detours.
