Summer Reading Challenge at the Lynchburg Public Library

The Summer Reading Challenge, A Universe of Stories, begins Saturday, June 1 at the Lynchburg Public Library, 2315 Memorial Avenue. This annual program helps promote literacy and encourages patrons to interact with the library in new ways. Everyone is welcome to join the fun and learn about the wealth of information your library has to offer.
Over the summer, the Lynchburg Public Library will host a series of performers, speakers, therapy dogs, crafts, Space Bingo, story time and special STEAM events that coincide with the Summer Reading Challenge. Other events include Food Truck Thursdays (June 20 and July 11) with a “Pop-Up” library, an Escape Room adventure on Tuesday, July 30, a puppet show with prizes for children and more.
Challenge sheets will be available at any service desk at the Library. Reading prizes for adults include a $50 Target gift card and a Kindle Fire. Teens will have a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card, and youth can join in for the opportunity to win one of several prize baskets.
