Trash Cart Delays
The City of Lynchburg’s Department of Public Works is apologizing to customers who are waiting for replacement 32-gallon trash carts. According to Public Works Director Gaynelle Hart, a delay in the axles for the carts has caused a backlog in deliveries to residents who have asked to have their carts replaced or switched to the smaller cart size.
“We have ordered the axles and are waiting for them to arrive so we can install them on the32-gallon carts and deliver them to residents,” said Hart.“Unfortunately, we haven’t received them yet and that has caused a delay. Currently, to help get the customers something, we’re washing out existing carts and delivering those. It’s not ideal but it’s a band aid until we can swap out a cart that is in better condition. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and we are working to rectify the situation.”
