Riverfront Park

Riverfront Park is located near the river in downtown Lynchburg, and includes a large open field suitable for festivals and other special events. The park connects to the Riverwalk trail along its northern edge. Riverwalk leads to Percival's Island in the James River, and parking is available on nearby streets. The level ground near the river is ideal for an easy stroll or bike ride.
Recent renovations include several boardwalks, rain gardens with native wildlife plantings, benches, new shade trees, and a stage area for events. A zero-depth fountain is open seasonally near the stage area for young and old to enjoy.

The Riverfront Park Fountain is open and operating 7 days a week, 11am - 7pm. At times, special events in the park may cause this schedule to change. Refer to the Events Calendar for additional information.
