Trash Collection
Trash is collected from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekly from residences and small businesses. To find out your collection day call 856-CITY (2489) or lookup your day here. Bags or carts should be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. with the proper trash tag or decal attached. You can purchase annual decals for $40 each for a 32 gallon can or $80 each for 64 a gallon can at City Hall (prorated after October) or individual tags for $0.95 each for 32 gallon bags or carts or $1.90 each for 64 gallon carts. All households and businesses that receive City of Lynchburg trash collection services are provided one trash cart at no charge. The cart remains on the property of the City of Lynchburg and must stay with the assigned property. Click here for more information on the Trash System.

NOTE: The City of Lynchburg no longer owns/manages the landfill. However, it is now owned and managed by a regional authority. Additionally, the Concord Turnpike Landfill is only open for residents. HOURS FOR RESIDENTS: 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Tuesday - Saturday.
The Landfill is closed on, New Year's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
