About Our Office
The Treasurer's Office in Lynchburg collects State tax payments for the City of Lynchburg. Income and estimated tax payments can be made in person or by mail at this office. We also issue Juror's checks, distribute State cigarette stamps, and collect Sheriff's fees. This Office maintains detailed records on all these payments and will provide assistance on questions you have concerning current or previous years transactions.
We look forward to serving the taxpayers in Lynchburg.

Sales and Use Tax Payments
Effective July 1, 2004 the Treasurer's Office in Lynchburg can now collect your Sales and Use Tax payments. HB 1241 Provides that retail dealers may choose to remit their sales and use tax returns and payments to the Treasurer's Office. To assist with internal planning, a list of form types, which may be received, is listed below. Returns are filed on either a monthly or quarterly filing frequency and are due on or before the 20th day of the month following each reporting period.

- Aircraft Sales and Use Tax AST-2
- Motor Vehicle Fuel Sales Tax FT-102
- Consumer's Use Tax ST-7
- Vending Machine Sales Tax VM-2
- Watercraft Sales and Use Tax WCT-2
