    Q - If I need a copy of a Census Map, Zoning Map, Ward Map or Street Map, what office should I contact?

    A - When was my property annexed into the City? Please use the City's GIS Parcel Viewer under Planning View
    Q - If I need a copy of a site plan, what office should I contact? A - Contact Community Development at 434-455-3900.
    Q - If I need to know the location of my drainfield, what office should I contact?
    A - The City Map Room has no information on drainfields. Contact the VA Health Department's Environmental Health 434-947-6781.
    Q - If I need to get permission to install a drainfield, what office should I contact.

    Q - Where are my property corners located? I need to know what my property boundaries are.
    A - To get exact property boundaries the homeowner would need to get a licensed surveyor to mark property corners (there is a cost for this). You may also obtain a copy of any recorded survey done in the City of Lynchburg in the Clerk's Office. NOTE: If a property was annexed into the City in 1976 and no survey has been done for that property since then there would be no surveys recorded in the Clerk's Office. There may however be surveys done that are recorded in the County. THE CITY DOES NOT DO SURVEY WORK FOR PRIVATE HOMEOWNERS. YOU MUST HIRE A LICENSED SURVEYOR.
