    James River Canoe Ramp

    4 Adams Street
    Lynchburg, VA 24504

The ramp provides boating access to the James River from the Lynchburg side of the river and is a great way to take a short paddle upriver for fishing and recreation. Located below the Scotts Mill Dam, and just above the Langley Fountain, the ramp is also a launching place for longer down-river trips. Fishing is not permitted from the bank.

The canoe ramp is located at the very end of 7th Street. After crossing Commerce Street, visitors should proceed across the railroad tracks and look for the canoe ramp sign posted at the top of the ramp. Please remember that the ramp is only for car-top carried boats; no trailers are allowed. There are 11 parking spaces allocated for vehicles and the facility is open from dawn to dusk.

Please read the canoe ramp rules and regulations, or contact Andrew Reeder, the Park Services Manager by email or by phone at (434) 455-5858 for more information.
