According to Lynchburg’s Billings and Collections’ office, there has been a slight delay in mailing annual trash decal renewal forms. The delay is attributed to a late shipment of the decals this year and several changes to the process. One change to the process is the mailing of trash decal applications to all eligible residents this year. Usually, only those residents who had previously purchased a decal received an application by mail. This change is being made to encourage more use of the annual trash decal.
In addition to applying for a decal through the mail or by bringing a completed application in person to the Billings and Collections window in City Hall, 900 Church Street, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., beginning Wednesday, September 25
, residents will be able to purchase a trash decal online with a credit card at https://webapps.lynchburgva.gov/citylink/
Due to the delay, last year’s decal will be honored until the new decals are mailed. Anyone who did not purchase a decal last year but wishes to purchase one this year is encouraged to use trash tags until they receive their new decal.
The annual decal can be purchased for both trash cart sizes (32-gallon cart and 64-gallon cart) and is slightly more economical than the use of trash tags. A decal for a 32-gallon trash cart is $40 and $80 for the 64-gallon cart.
