Clerk of Council

Appointed in December of 2020, Alicia serves the City of Lynchburg as the Clerk of Council. In her role, she is responsible for recording the proceedings and preserving the records of all Council action, maintaining City Code, notifying the public of all City Council meeting dates and actions, managing all Council-appointed Boards and Commissions, coordinating meetings and activities for City Council, and providing overall support to all City Council members. She is one of three positions appointed by City Council, along with the City Manager and the City Attorney. 

Prior to her appointment, Alicia served as the administrative support to the City Manager’s Office where she first matriculated into local government. It was working alongside these dedicated professionals where she first realized her passion for public service. She currently serves on a few local boards in her personal time and is always looking for opportunities to give back to her community. 

Alicia has called Central Virginia home since 2001 after moving to the Town of Amherst following her father’s retirement from the U.S. Coast Guard. She received her associate degree from Central Virginia Community College and is currently furthering her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management from Penn State. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Lynchburg’s robust parks and extensive trails, hiking the Blue Ridge mountains, and spending time with her family. 

Alicia is an active member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Virginia Municipal Clerks Association, and the Virginia Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators.
