Marty Misjuns (At-Large)

Marty Misjuns currently serves as one of the three At-Large members on Lynchburg City Council. His term began January 2, 2023, and will run until December 31st, 2026.

Marty is a Christian, husband, father of four boys and has dedicated his life to serving the greatest nation in the world and his community.

He is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard Reserve, where he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer, with over 20 years of service. In 2007, Marty dedicated his professional civilian life to serving the City of Lynchburg in the Fire Department.  During his 14-year career with the Lynchburg Fire Department (LFD), he became a Nationally Registered Paramedic, and achieved the rank of Fire Captain.  

After over 14 years of selfless service to the City of Lynchburg, Marty transitioned into a leadership role in the private sector healthcare industry.  Transitioning to the private sector opened the opportunity for his bid for Lynchburg City Council.  Marty also has experience running small businesses in the construction, real estate and development sector, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Liberty University.  He has also volunteered his time building homes for disabled veterans, and trying to improve our public safety system in the City of Lynchburg.
