Important Information Regarding Inclement Weather
►PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ROADS HAVE BEEN TREATED
The City of Lynchburg’s Public Works crews have pre-treated all primary and secondary streets with brine in anticipation of the inclement weather predicted for Thursday, February 18.
►THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18 TRASH COLLECTION POSTPONED
The City of Lynchburg has been advised that the Region 2000 Service Authority will be closed on Thursday, February 18 due to the winter storm predicted. As a result, trash collection scheduled for Thursday, February 18 will be postponed until Friday February 19. The Concord Turnpike Convenience Center will be closed on Thursday, February 18 as well.
Please continue to monitor the city’s social media sites for further updates regarding road conditions and the trash collection schedule.
►DOWNTOWN RESIDENTS AND EMPLOYEES ENCOURAGED TO PARK IN PARKING DECKS
Because of the inclement weather predicted for Thursday, February 18, the City of Lynchburg’s Parking Management Department is suspending parking enforcement operations and encouraging Downtown residents and employees to park their vehicles in City-owned parking decks so Public Works crews can clear streets more easily.
Free parking will be allowed in the following City parking decks beginning tonight, Wednesday, February 17 at 6:00 p.m. and continuing until Friday, February 19 at 7:00 a.m. During this time, regular parking enforcement operations will be suspended.
Midtown Parking Deck
Levels B – E, accessible from the 900 block of Main Street, Ninth Street and the 900 block of Commerce Street
Clay Street Parking Deck
Second level ONLY, accessible from Clay Street and behind the Lynchburg Museum
