    Information for Residents Who Wish to Vote in Upcoming General Election on Nov. 2

    The Lynchburg Registrar’s Office is reminding City residents of the following regarding the upcoming November 2 General Election:

    Early voting is now available at the Registrar’s Office, 825 Kemper Street, Suite A, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday October 23 and Saturday, October 30, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. In addition, the Registrar’s Office will have extended hours Monday - Friday, October 25-29, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  

    A new law which became effective July 1, 2021 (Virginia Code §24.2-604 and 24.-671) states that firearms are prohibited within 40 feet of any polling place. Virginia Code does allow exceptions for all active and certain retired law enforcement officers. 

    Voters who have requested a vote-by-mail ballot must obtain a witness signature for this election.
