The City of Lynchburg operates several public parking facilities in the Central Business District.
- For a quick downtown visit, there are 1,000 on-street parking spaces including handicapped parking spaces.
- For longer visits to downtown, there are approximately 1,687 off-street parking spaces which are managed by the City. Approximately 1,000 of these spaces are available to the public. There are an estimated 3,935 privately-owned or managed parking spaces in the downtown area.
- Visits on nights (5 pm - 8 am), weekends and City Holidays (New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Holiday 1 and Christmas Holiday 2) are free.
The Enforcement Officers enforce the parking policy and ordinance within the Central Business District.
