Beginning Monday, May 22 and continuing for approximately two weeks, a portion of Commerce Street (between Fifth Street and Seventh Street) will be closed to all traffic, including emergency vehicles, in order to accommodate the rebuilding and paving of the street.
Incoming traffic to the US Pipe plant from Amherst County will require a detour to Main Street.
All traffic leaving the US Pipe plant will be required to turn left at Commerce Street. Large truck traffic can continue on Commerce Street all the way to Main Street and then turn left to access US Route 29 Business either to the north or south.
Seventh Street (between Main Street and Commerce Street) will temporarily be one-way heading from Main Street towards Commerce Street for the duration of this closure.
Access to local businesses and parking lots in the 700 block of Commerce will be maintained.
