Tactical Paramedic Program

The Lynchburg Fire Department’s Tactical Paramedic Program works in conjunction with the Lynchburg Police Department's Tactical Team. All Tactical Paramedic Team members are certified paramedics, as well as sworn Special Police Officers who have extensive tactical training.

Whenever the Lynchburg Police Department’s Tactical Team is called to a scene, members of the Lynchburg Fire Department's Tactical Paramedic Team deploy as well to provide life-saving skills. Typically, the Tactical Paramedic Team deploys to assist on calls involving a barricaded subject, hostage situations and serving high-risk warrants.
